This place
is a village within the scope of the Regional District of Sukawati, Gianyar regency, Bali
Province. Batubulan village was originally known as an agriculture village that
is rich in arts including dance and carving. The structure of agrarian society
and culture inspired by Hindu religion is the basis of community life of
Batubulan village. Batubulan is wellknown as Barong dance tour object. This village
lies on the path of Denpasar – Ubud and is approximately 10 km from Denpasar.
Every day foreign and domestic tourists witness Barong dance performances in
five places. Furthermore, tourists can also see stone sculptors making statues
for decorating houses, hotels, crossroads, and temples.
